We’re just a few weeks away from the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S20, and the leaks don’t stop pouring in. We’ve already seen renders and specs of the upcoming flagship phones, but now we know what the pre-order bonus will be for early adopters.
The promotional image seen below (via Evan Blass) confirms that pre-orders of the Galaxy S20 Plus or S20 Ultra will come with a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus for free. High-quality renders of Samsung’s latest true-wireless earbuds leaked earlier this week. Early indications show the Galaxy Buds successor having a higher price tag and a bigger battery, but no active noise canceling.
Last year Samsung offered a similar deal with Galaxy S10 pre-orders, although it eventually ran out of units and offered a gift certificate instead. The fine print did state “while supplies last”, and if this year’s offer is the same you may want to consider pre-ordering as soon as possible.
Noticeably absent from the picture is the standard Galaxy S20, which is slated to be the cheapest in the lineup without a follow-up to the Galaxy S10e. That doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be included in the pre-order offer, but it does ring true when compared to last year’s offer, which didn’t include pre-orders of the Galaxy S10e.
The image also gives a good look at the camera bump, and on the S20 Ultra it looks to be jutting prominently out of the phone body. While it is significantly less ugly than early renders, which prompted a host of memes when it was first leaked nearly two months ago, the sharp edges of the camera housing don’t look particularly comfortable to hold.
The 5G-only device is rumored to have the same penta-camera setup with a 108MP main camera as the S20 Plus, so it’s unclear why it appears to be so much thicker in this official render. Maybe it’s just a bad angle?
Regardless, expect the full list of S20 and Galaxy Buds Plus details at the official Unpacked 2020 launch event on February 11.
